I Made it Myself!

I am always of the opinion that if you have enough "stuff" in your craft space, you can always figure out how to make something, or have "something" that goes with "everything!"

Last night, I was putting together a Christmas Card and I had had it in the back of my mind that I was going to use a poinsettia to finish it off. I had some felt flowers, which I had planned to use, but when I added them to the card, they looked awful - wrong colour combination, and, well, "just not right." Yikes! The card was almost done and it was missing its centerpiece / focal point element!

After a brief moment of panic, I decided I could make my own.

I pulled out my favourite Cricut Cartridge (Art Philosophy, from Close to My Heart) and cut out two poinsettia's - one at 1 3/4" and one at 1 1/4" and then assembled them. But, it was missing something, so I strung a dozen or so yellow beads (just "happened" to have them) onto some yellow wire (yup, just "happened" to have that, too!) and wound them up and then attached them to the center of the flower using the ends of the wires like the ends of a brad to affix it in place! Ta da!

The photo above is the finished flower, mounted on the card front, and the one below is more centers in progress!
