So Many Ideas ...

Wow, it has been a whirlwind of a year and I've had a ton of fun working on many different workshops and projects.

As well as my regular studio workshops, I am also hosting weekly workshops with a non-profit organization and this is keeping my creative juices flowing!

Earlier this year I dove in and bought a new Cricut Machine (Explore 3). I have had a Cricut for years, but never migrated to the "computer-based" versions. Well, let me tell you, I am HOOKED!

On the one hand, I wish I had done this years ago, but on the other hand, I may not have known how to use it differently from what I was doing with my good-old machine.

For example, one thing I discovered this year was layered cut files. I sometimes purchase cut files from various different vendors (and then I cut and assemble them, often adding a bit of my own creativity to them), but I also have started to create my own images and whirrrr ... the ideas are just whizzing around in my head day and night about new projects I can create.

The photo above is four of the spring and summer themed ones I created for some workshops earlier this year. These are "mini shadow boxes" measuring about 4.5" square. But, I've also created larger projects in an 8 x 8" or 9 x 9" size and each one is unique and inspirational (check out my Project Gallery to see more examples of these fabulous layered-paper shadow box projects).

Stay tuned for upcoming workshop announcements where you will be able to create one yourself!
